- Any analytics or telemetry data

We cannot read your thoughts because we never receive them.

## 2. Local Data Storage

### 2.1 What Is Stored Locally

All content you create within the App is stored exclusively on your device:

- Text entries: Saved in the App's local storage on your device

- Voice recordings: Audio files stored locally on your device

- Transcriptions: Text converted from voice, stored locally

- AI-generated summaries: After generation, stored locally on your device

- App preferences and settings: Stored locally on your device

### 2.2 Your Control Over Local Data

You have complete control over your locally stored data:

- Access: View all your entries within the App at any time

- Deletion: Delete individual entries or all data through the App's settings

- Export: Export your data for personal backup (if feature available)

- App Removal: Deleting the App removes all associated data from your device

### 2.3 Data Security

Your local data is protected by:

- Your device's built-in security features (passcode, Face ID, Touch ID)

- iOS/iPadOS sandboxing, which prevents other apps from accessing your data

- Optional App-level protection features (if available)

We recommend enabling device-level security features to protect your personal journal content.

---

## 3. Voice Input and Speech-to-Text

### 3.1 Local Transcription

When you use the voice input feature:

- All speech-to-text processing occurs entirely on your device

- Audio data is processed using on-device transcription technology

- Your voice recordings never leave your device for transcription purposes

- No audio data is transmitted to our servers or any third party for transcription

### 3.2 Audio Storage

- Original audio recordings are stored locally on your device

- You may choose to keep or delete audio recordings after transcription

- Audio files are never uploaded to external servers

---

## 4. AI Summarization Feature

### 4.1 How It Works

The AI summarization feature is an optional feature that generates reflective summaries of your journal entries. When you choose to use this feature:

1. Text content from your selected entries is sent to the Google Gemini API

2. The Gemini API processes the text and generates a summary

3. The summary is returned to your device and stored locally

4. We do not retain any copies of the data sent to or received from the API

### 4.2 Google Gemini API

The AI summarization feature utilizes Google's Gemini API service. When using this feature:

- Your text data is processed by Google in accordance with their privacy practices

- Google's handling of this data is governed by:

- [Google Privacy Policy](https://policies.google.com/privacy)

- [Google Cloud Terms of Service](https://cloud.google.com/terms)

- [Google API Services User Data Policy](https://developers.google.com/terms/api-services-user-data-policy)

### 4.3 What Is Sent to Google

When you use AI summarization, the following is transmitted:

- Text content of the entries you choose to summarize

- No personal identifiers (name, email, device ID) are included

- No metadata linking content to your identity

### 4.4 What Is NOT Sent to Google

- Your voice recordings or audio files

- Your complete journal history

- Any personal identification information

- Device identifiers or tracking data

### 4.5 Opting Out

The AI summarization feature is entirely optional. If you prefer complete offline functionality:

- Simply do not use the AI summarization feature

- All other App features (capture, transcription, archive) work fully offline

- No data will be transmitted to any external service

---

You can enhance security by:

Since we do not collect or process personal data:

- No legal basis for processing is required (we don't process your data)

- No data transfers to third countries occur for your local content

- Your rights under GDPR are fulfilled by your direct control over local data

When using the AI summarization feature, Google acts as a data processor. Google's GDPR compliance is documented in their privacy policy and data processing terms.
